Mondjuk el, hogy mi hol van!

Ezzel a könnyű szerkezettel már el tudjuk mondani, hogy valami van valahol. Mivel már tudjuk a főnevek többes számát is, több dolgot is el tudunk mondani. Kombinálhatjuk az eddigi tudásunkat a létigéről. Kijelentő módban:

Ha egy dolog van valahol:

• There is a pen in my bag.
• There is a cat on the tree.
• There is a book on the shelf.

Ha egynél több dolog van valahol:

• There are five pens in my bag.
• There are two cats on the tree.
• There are thirteen books on the shelf.

Eddig jó! De mi van akkor, ha tagadni akarjuk ezeket? Az angolban a tagadószó a : NOT

Nincs más dolgunk, csak beilleszteni a létige után a 'not' szócskát! Tehát tagadó módban:

• There is not a pen in my bag.
• There is not a cat on the tree.
• There is not a book on the shelf.

Ha egynél több dologról van szó:

• There are not five pens in my bag.
• There are not two cats on the tree.
• There are not thirteen books on the shelf.

Szuper! Viszont ha van kijelentő és tagadó mondatunk, akkor kell kérdő is!

Nincs más dolgunk, mint felcserélni a létigét a 'there' szóval. (Ezt az angolban kérdő szórendnek hívjuk.) Kérdő módban:

Ha egy dologról kérdezünk:

• Is there a pen in my bag?
• Is there a cat on the tree?
• Is there a book on the shelf?

Ha egynél több dologról van szó:

• Are there five pens in my bag?
• Are there two cats on the tree?
• Are there thirteen books on the shelf?
